Company Information

Payless Car Rental is a privately held company and is part of the Avalon Global Group of companies. Founded in 1971, it was a small hometown operation in Spokane Washington. Today, through our partnership with Network Car and Truck Rental we have combined presence in over 180 locations worldwide. Payless is an international firm with a customer service focus. As of January of 2005, Payless Car Rental is under the direction of Richard Stevens, President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Payless History

1971 - Payless is founded by Les Netterstron in Spokane, Washington.

1982 - Payless grows to 100 rental offices.

1987 - Payless acquires U.S. portion of Canadian founded Holiday Rent A Car. Computer automated central reservation system is built.

1989 - Payless Acquisition Inc. purchases stock shares of Payless Car Rental System, Inc. Payless Car Rental image is created.

1994 - Corporate marketing strategy strengthened with rollout of Championship Club program.

1999 - REZlink International formed to provide reservations technology to Payless and other travel related companies.

2002 - Payless acquires corporate stores in Orlando and Tampa, Florida.

2003 - Cooperative Agreement formed with Sixt Rent A Car. Sixt has a presence in over 60 countries and 2,400 service outlets.

2004 - Partnership formed with Network Car & Truck Rentals. Network operates in 90 locations covering all Australian States. Payless acquires three corporate stores in Las Vegas , Nevada.

2005 - Payless Car Rental names Richard Stevens as its President. Payless opens a corporate store in Denver, Colorado. Payless opens a corporate store in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

2006 - Payless opens a corporate store in Phoenix, Arizona.
